Chef Sarah prepares high quality meals in your home kitchen and then stores the meals in the refrigerator or freezer based upon your lifestyle needs. Best of all, Chef Sarah creates personalized menus just for you, therefore making it unique to your dining preferences and dietary requirements.

Q: Who needs A Simple Kitchen?
A: Putting high quality, healthful meals on the dinner table is still a priority even if you are too busy  or don’t want to cook. Hiring A Simple Kitchen is a great way to ensure that you and your family are eating well, while enabling you to save valuable time and effort. Here are a few examples of people whose lives would be improved by hiring A Simple Kitchen:

• Busy professionals

• Individuals/families requiring special diets (i.e. gluten-free, low-sodium, etc.)
• Individuals/families with weight loss goals
• Individuals recovering from injury or illness

Q: How does this service work?
A: First we complete an in-home client assessment, where you will fill out a detailed food questionnaire so A Simple Kitchen can understand your dining preferences, dietary needs, and lifestyle requirements. Then Chef Sarah will research and create customized menus for your approval and will schedule a cook date. Next, Chef Sarah will do all the grocery shopping and come to your home to prepare your meals. Your meals will be packaged and labeled with complete instructions on how to enjoy them. And lastly, you will come home to a clean kitchen and food ready and waiting for you!

Q: How much does it cost?
A: Pricing varies depending on the number of entrees and servings prepared. The cost of groceries and containers is not included in the service price allowing you to maximize control over the final costs of your menu plan. Please see the “Packages and Pricing” page or contact Chef Sarah for a customized quote.

Q: What does the service price include?
A: The price of service includes:

• In-home client consultation (food questionnaire and kitchen review)
• Personalized menu research and planning
• Grocery shopping
• Meal preparation, packaging, labeling, and storing
• Kitchen clean up
• Transportation (up to 50 miles round-trip)

NOTE: The cost of groceries and a $30 pantry fee is not included in the service price.

Q: Do you cook in my kitchen?
A: All meals are prepared in your home kitchen with your kitchen equipment to ensure your food is safely and freshly prepared. Your kitchen will be left sparkling clean and your fridge will be full of delicious meals to enjoy!

Q: How long will you be in my kitchen?
A: Typically, the service takes approximately four to six hours from arrival to kitchen clean up. The length of time depends entirely on the quantity of meals prepared and the type of menu selected for the cook date.

Q: Do I have to be home when you come to cook?
A: You do not have to be home on your scheduled cook date as long as appropriate arrangements are made in advance for Chef Sarah to gain access to your kitchen.

Q: How is the food packaged?
A: Packaging options will be discussed at the initial client assessment. Usually clients either choose Pyrex or Corningware containers that can go straight from the fridge to the oven. Re-usable plastic containers such as Gladware or Ziploc are another option.

Q: What area does A Simple Kitchen service?
A: A Simple Kitchen serves the metro Twin Cities and suburbs. There is a travel surcharge for cook dates 25 miles or more, one way, from the metro area.
